WIRELESS FIRST, INC. FORMS STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH
AUDIO SPECIALTIES GROUP (ASG)
New York
- Wireless First, Inc. ("Wireless First"), a professional audio company specializing
in the rental and sales of high-end RF/wireless microphones and equipment, announced
today a strategic alliance with Audio Specialties Group ("ASG"), the U.S. Audio
Service Division of UK-based Vitec Group plc. Under the terms of the agreement,
the 'Audio Specialties' unit of the Group (National leader in premier production
communications / intercom services), will allow Wireless First to rent and manage
its New York City-based Audio and Intercom equipment inventory, thus enabling
Wireless First to expand and service a wider segment of the audio, intercom and
RF needs of the production community. ASG
Managing Director, Robert Nudo, initiated the collaboration in December 2000 when
Kevin Sanford, owner and operator of Wireless First, opened offices in New York
City. Nudo saw the Wireless First expansion as an opportunity to promote the Audio
Specialties rental business in conjunction with Wireless First's fast growing
clientele. Since inception, Wireless First
has become a driving force in the specialized market of wireless equipment rentals.
The company, which began five years ago in Massachusetts, services major production
companies and television networks nationwide, including MTV, VH1, NBC, Radio City
Productions and Buena Vista Pictures among others. "The company is growing at
a record pace," said Sanford. The alliance
will enable Wireless First to keep up with the growing demand of our customers
without compromising the financial stature of the business." Sanford believes
that the partnership brings Wireless First to the next level in audio, not only
expanding its ability to offer more equipment, but now enabling Wireless First
to provide the best "one-stop shop" service to its customers. Over
the next month ASG will move its New York office to the new Manhattan Wireless
First Facility at 321 West 35th Street, New York, NY and all future wireless and
intercom will be handled by Wireless First, who will, in turn, house, maintain
and endorse all equipment under the Wireless First name. Sanford
believed that the only way to insure the quality and consistency of the service
provided was to manage all equipment in one place, under one roof and name. "We
attribute the success of Wireless First to the quality and reliability of our
equipment as well our exceptional customer service; we weren't willing to allow
logistical issues, such as equipment storage, to jeopardize our reputation in
the industry" said Sanford. Nudo then added, "ASG has a great name in its areas
of specialty, but how much stronger both companies could be if they combined forces."
Consequently, ASG management hired Sanford to manage their New York equipment,
thus insuring the consistency of the service while complimenting Wireless First's
reputation for excellence. Rumor of the alliance
in the industry has already generated a considerable business in New York. Wireless
First has recently accepted requests to provide wireless systems and hardline
intercom equipment for "The Vagina Monologues" at Madison Square Garden, "The
Brian Wilson Tribute" and "VH1 Divas" at Radio City, as well as the much anticipated
Disney's Pearl Harbor premiere in May of this year. Wireless
