‘DIVA’S LIVE’ SALUTES ARETHA FRANKLIN AT RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL, NYC

Aretha Franklin sang to a sold out crowd at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on April 10, 2001. In her 45-year career, Franklin has proved to be one of the greatest living American Singers ever, and the star-studded gala belonged to her from the moment she opened her mouth. Special guests Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Mark Anthony, Kid Rock and others paid tribute to the Diva by performing hits made popular by Franklin over her long career.

Wireless First, a professional sound equipment company, provided the wireless microphones and communications for the event. Franklin specifically requested Sennheiser SKM 5000 microphones for the show. The Diva, along with other vocal greats Barbra Streisand and Bette Midler, prefer the Sennheiser mic, believing it to be far superior in quality and clarity.

Whether it was the microphone or Franklin’s unfiltered vocal gift, the sounds and vibrations heard by the audience were both stimulating and joyous.

Franklin proved that she’s still the Queen of Soul.
